The money was gone but the moniker stuck. Talented, but down on their luck, the boys were introduced to promoter and sometimes-sideshow-carnie Colonel Bret Austin. “The Colonel” arranged for the band to keep one of the Cadillacs and sent them on an endless criss-crossing of the country, all the while playing shows, singing live on the radio and promoting their album in an attempt to get the money back. These days home is anywhere between Austin and Bakersfield. You’ll find them on the road, driving the tail-finned, steer-horned classic Cadillac and playing good American music for everyone who needs it. “There’s been a lot of talk about how the boys met in a Mexican jail after a night of drinking in Juarez,” says the ringmaster and armadillo-dodging Colonel, “Hell, they knew each other long before that happened!” BACK
